Kings play host to Oilers
VS. EDMONTON
Time: 1 p.m.
On the air: TV: FS West. Radio: 1150.
Where: Staples Center.
Records: Kings 24-22-7, Oilers 27-23-4.
Record vs. Oilers: 1-0-1.
Update: After winning the last four of a five-game trip, the Kings returned home Thursday to be stymied by the Flames and a strong performance by goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff. After today, the Kings have only nine home games left. Defenseman Denis Gauthier is eligible to return from the five-game suspension imposed by the NHL for his nasty hit to the head of Montreal’s Josh Gorges and figures to play today. Davis Drewiske would be the extra defenseman with Tom Preissing on injured reserve. A team spokesman said Derek Armstrong centered the fourth line in practice Friday, leaving Oscar Moller a likely scratch. The Oilers will be without two former Kings: defensemen Denis Grebeshkov (sprained ankle) and Lubomir Visnovsky (shoulder surgery).
