Re “Ban on travel to Cuba may be lifted,” April 1
I’ve never understood why the U.S. considers the tiny communist island of Cuba a big bad guy, while it embraces the communist giant of China as a best buddy.
Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.), who opposes a proposed measure to lift the ban on travel to Cuba, states the obvious when he says of business interests supporting the measure that “they are not acting from a moral standpoint, they are simply acting from an economic advantage standpoint.”
What does he think our relationship with China is all about -- peace and freedom?
