BASEBALL PREVIEW
No. 20 Thousand Oaks (8-4, 3-2) at No. 7 Simi Valley Royal (10-2, 3-2)
Why it matters: The teams are in a three-way tie with Moorpark for second place in the Marmonte League behind Simi Valley, which has won its first five league games. Thousand Oaks pulled out a 4-2 win over Calabasas on Wednesday when Avondre Bollar hit a walk-off, two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh inning. Royal is looking to bounce back from a 3-1 loss to Moorpark on Wednesday.

SOFTBALL RESULT
Corona Santiago 2, Riverside King 0 (12 innings)
Top contributors: The Big VIII League softball game was a pitcher’s duel between Santiago’s Kamerin May and King’s Amanda Braun. May gave up three hits, pitching a no-hitter through seven innings, and Braun gave up eight hits.
The scoop: Santiago senior Jackie Sweet hit a game-winning triple off the fence with runners at first and second base in the 12th inning to score the game’s only two runs.
Why it matters: Santiago avenged its loss to King last month and handed the Wolves their first loss in league play.
Records: Santiago 9-2, 3-1; King 13-3, 3-1.
