Record vs. Stars (2007-08) -- 3-5.
Update -- This is the first meeting between the teams since the Stars eliminated the Ducks in six games during the 2008 Stanley Cup playoffs. “It will be in the forefront of our guys’ mind,” Ducks Coach Randy Carlyle said. Forward Rob Niedermayer said “any time it was the team that knocked you out of the playoffs there are not going to be fond memories.” The Stars will probably be without forward Jere Lehtinen (groin) but could have defenseman Sergei Zubov (hip) back. Forwards Steve Ott and Brendan Morrow are banged up but will probably play. Goaltender Marty Turco is off to a woeful start, with a 4.34 goals-against average and .837 save percentage. Ducks forward George Parros (eye injury) will be available but must wear a visor. Forward Brad May (strained knee) practiced but said he’s not close to returning.
