It might as well be a national holiday as far as Angelenos are concerned. Below, a guide for die-hard fans looking to stay glued to the small screen for 15-plus hours of Oscar coverage. Chitchat with Joey Fatone, anyone?
9 a.m. The buildup starts now, with “Countdown to the Red Carpet: The 2008 Academy Awards” on E!.
11 a.m. Hosts Peter Bart and Peter Guber honor the nominees on their AMC talk show “Shootout”; TV Guide Channel gets into the action with “2008 Academy Awards Preview With Joey Fatone.”
Noon Biography Channel presents “Race to the Red Carpet: Oscar Nominations”; TV Guide Channel continues coverage with “2008 Countdown to the Academy Awards.”
2 p.m. Celebrities and athletes predict the winners (and select their favorite sports movies) on KABC’s “CelebTV’s All Star Tribute to Movies.”
