With the $56-million Broad Contemporary Art Museum-a.k.a. BCAM-opening Feb. 16, a chunk of the 1,800 works assembled by billionaire philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad go on public view. The museum will debut with about 200 paintings, photographs and sculptures, mostly from the Broads’ holdings and rarely seen by the public.
