Second-seeded San Pedro makes its second appearance in the City Section title game in three years; it lost to Lake Balboa Birmingham, 45-7, in 2006. The Pirates have given up an average of three points a game in three playoff victories. Top-seeded Narbonne beat San Pedro, 27-24, in triple overtime in a Marine League game this year. The Gauchos, seeking their first major- division title, have averaged 32 points in the postseason.

vs. Long Beach Poly (13-0)

Third-seeded Tesoro, which won Division IX titles in 2004 and 2005 but had not won an upper-division playoff game before this season, is in the Pac-5 Division final two years after going 1-9. Quarterback Robbie Picazo and running back Zach Mitchell operate behind an offensive line that averages nearly 300 pounds. Top-seeded Poly, seeking its 18th Southern Section title, relies on running backs Melvin Richardson and Daveon Barner and a stingy defense.

La Habra (11-2)
vs. Tustin (9-4)
Angel Stadium, 2 p.m.
The defenses may never rest in the Southwest Division final. Second-seeded La Habra posted an 83-0 victory over Anaheim earlier in the playoffs; Tustin routed Anaheim Magnolia, 76-26, in the first round. La Habra won its third section title last year; Tustin hasn’t won one since 1948.
The pick: La Habra.
Citrus Hill (13-0)
at Barstow (10-3), 7:30
Top-seeded Citrus Hill, seeking its second consecutive section title, has three prolific playmakers in running back Deonate Cooper, quarterback Caleb Herring and receiver Maurice Culpepper. Barstow’s only section title was in 1969.
The pick: Citrus Hill.
Rosemead (11-2)
vs. Lancaster Paraclete (10-3)
Palmdale Knight High, 7
Paraclete, 5-0 in championship-game appearances, will go for a sixth title in the Mid-Valley Division final against Rosemead, which tied Pomona Garey in 1982 in its only title-game appearance.
The pick: Paraclete.
Twentynine Palms (10-3)
at San Juan Capistrano St. Margaret’s (13-0), 7:30
A victory in the East Valley Division championship would be top-seeded St. Margaret’s 42nd consecutive win, an Orange County record.
The pick: St. Margaret’s.
Riverside Christian (12-1)
at Arcadia Rio Hondo
Prep (9-3) 7
Only Long Beach Poly owns more section titles than Rio Hondo Prep’s 11 heading into the Northeast Division final. The Kares have won titles in six-, eight- and 11-man football.
