Pink and proud
We all know what to do with laptops and shoes at airport security. But what about feather boas? Air New Zealand may need to find out before its first North American “Pink Flight” departs Feb. 26 from San Francisco International Airport bound for the 2008 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Passengers are encouraged to show up at the airport in their most extravagant Mardi Gras costumes. The Pink Flight will feature a “Get Onboard Girlfriend!” going-away bash at the departure gate, pink drinks and food, and gay-themed in-flight movies. Because it’s an overnight flight, there will be a scheduled time for grabbing 40 winks. More information at www .airnewzealand.com/pinkflight.
