A 16-year-old Anaheim High School student was stabbed at a restaurant across from the school in what police say was a gang-related incident.
Sgt. Rick Martinez of the Anaheim Police Department said Tuesday that the teenager was eating at a small Mexican restaurant at Lincoln Avenue and Citron Street about 2:15 p.m. Monday when he was stabbed after an argument with two men.
“During the fight, one suspect pulls out a knife and stabs the kid in the back,” Martinez said. He said the men fled in a car.
The teenager was hospitalized and is expected to survive, Martinez said. He called the incident “gang-related on both sides.”
One of the men was believed to be 18 to 20 years old and the other is in his early 20s, police said.
