Re “Bush asserts U.S. thriving on low taxes,” Sept. 21
Whereas President Bush thinks he got a B in Economics 101, my experiences tell me his form of economics is worthy of an F. I sometimes wonder how I am going to get through 2008. After working 48 years and building a worthy nest egg, I retired. When I was working, I managed to live on my income and put away for a rainy day; I did not expect it to rain every day. My nest egg is dwindling at the speed of sound. Tell me, President Bush, have you bought any milk lately? Vegetables, fruit, meat? How about gas? What are lower taxes doing for us besides helping to increase debt?
