CBS’ Hannah Storm leaving ‘Early Show’

After five years in morning television, CBS’ Hannah Storm is leaving the “The Early Show” to take another yet-to-be-determined post at the network, CBS News officials announced Wednesday.
Executives declined to give a reason for the move.
“Hannah has done excellent work for ‘The Early Show’ and has been a primary reason that the broadcast has stabilized and is so well positioned for the future,” CBS News President Sean McManus said in a statement. “I’m pleased that we are exploring opportunities to utilize her skills and talents in areas beyond mornings.”
The departure of Storm -- who anchored the show with Harry Smith, Julie Chen, news anchor Russ Mitchell and weatherman Dave Price -- is the biggest change at the third-place show since its new executive producer, Shelley Ross, took over in September.
Storm, a veteran sports reporter, joined “The Early Show” in October 2002 after a decade with NBC Sports.
