* at No. 4 West Virginia 66, No. 20 Connecticut 21: Quarterback Pat White rushed for 186 yards and accounted for three touchdowns to lead the Mountaineers (10-1, 5-1) to the Big East title after a rout of the Huskies (9-3, 5-2) at Morgantown. A win next week against Pittsburgh could put West Virginia in the Bowl Championship Series title game. The Mountaineers had a season-high 517 yards rushing against the Huskies.
* No. 24 Cincinnati 52, at Syracuse 31: Ben Mauk threw for a career-high 431 yards and four touchdowns, three to Marcus Barnett, and the Bearcats (9-3, 4-3) defeated the Orange (2-10, 1-6) at Syracuse, N.Y. The victory gives Cincinnati its first nine-win season since the 1953 team went 9-1 and probably assures it of finishing the regular season ranked for the first time in team history.
* South Florida 48, at Pittsburgh 37: Matt Grothe ran 80 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the second half and the Bulls (9-3, 4-3) turned three interceptions into touchdowns in a victory over the Panthers (4-7, 2-4).
