French tenor Roberto Alagna has canceled plans to perform in “Il Trovatore” in Madrid because he must undergo minor surgery on his nose, Madrid’s opera house and the singer’s manager said Tuesday.
“Roberto Alagna is undergoing surgery between June 2-4 and after that he needs a recovery period of six weeks,” said Ines Toston, a spokeswoman for the Teatro Real.
Alagna’s manager in Spain, Miguel Lerin, said the tenor was to undergo surgery on his septum.
