Man stabbed on skid row dies; assailant is sought

A man who was stabbed downtown on skid row died early Sunday, and police were searching for his assailant.
The attack occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday near 8th Street and Werdin Place, police said.
The victim was taken to County-USC Medical Center with multiple stab wounds but died of his injuries shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday.
The name of the victim, described only as a black man, had not been released while police sought his relatives. The motive for the killing was unknown.
