Oak View man suspected of molesting girl, 12

A 51-year-old Oak View man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually molesting a 12-year-old girl in the Ojai Valley, authorities said Friday.
Garry Garner was arrested Thursday afternoon by Ventura County sheriff’s deputies at his residence in the 11000 block of Puesta del Sol. He was later booked into county jail and remains in custody.
Garner was booked on suspicion of committing two felonies, including lewd acts with a child and oral copulation with a victim under the age of 16.
Deputy Brian Richmond, chief detective on the case, said the girl’s parents came forward earlier this week.
He would not specify how Garner knew the girl, but Richmond said the alleged abuse is believed to have occurred over the last six years.
