He’s waiting for word from Road & Track
Apparently, Ford CEO Mulally really was good at his old job.
The former head of Boeing Co.’s commercial aircraft operations was honored last week as the aerospace industry’s person of the year by Aviation Week & Space Technology, an influential industry publication.
“It would be difficult to overstate the influence that Alan Mulally had on the commercial aerospace market,” the magazine said of the man credited with reviving Boeing’s airliner program.
Accolades have been harder to come by in Mulally’s new industry, which he joined in October. Six months into his tenure, some analysts are questioning the pace of his turnaround effort at the nation’s No. 2 automaker.
