Wave of tornadoes wrecks homes

At least 16 tornadoes swept along the New Mexico-Texas state line, destroying homes and other buildings and injuring several people, two of them critically, authorities said. Residents said the cleanup effort could take months.
The worst damage from the storms was in the New Mexico towns of Logan and Clovis, police said.
Clovis had a narrow path of damage about three miles long, where some motor homes were destroyed, three schools were damaged and businesses lost windows. One of the tornadoes destroyed about two dozen mobile homes and campers in Logan, about 80 miles from Clovis. By midday, the storms weakened and moved into the central Plains.
