Chapin hosted a TV show too
I enjoyed Brenda Rees’ profile of Tom Chapin (“He’s Proud to Be the Teachers’ Pet,” June 21) but was surprised by a significant omission in his career chronology. In between his folkie ‘60s days and his focus on kids’ music in the ‘80s, Chapin hosted a wonderful ABC children’s program called “Make a Wish” in the ‘70s.
So not only did Chapin make his mark on the “Kumbaya” and high-tech generations, count me in among the fortysomethings who used to stay home Sunday mornings (remember life before TiVo?) to watch his show!
