* at Atlanta 4, Washington 1: Brian McCann’s run-scoring single gave the Braves their first lead in a week, and he added a three-run homer to help them end a five-game skid that included four shutout losses. It was McCann’s second four-RBI game this season.
* at New York 2, St. Louis 1 (11 innings): Shawn Green hit a leadoff home run in the 11th and the Mets won their fourth game in a row despite getting only three hits. The National League East leaders have won seven consecutive regular-season games against the Cardinals.
* at Milwaukee 6, Houston 1: Ben Sheets (9-3) won his fifth consecutive decision and Prince Fielder hit his league-leading 27th homer to lift the Brewers. J.J. Hardy hit a solo homer to back up Sheets, who flashed a 94-mph fastball and a big curve to keep the Astros off balance.
* at San Francisco 4, San Diego 3 (11 innings): Pedro Feliz singled to center field with two out in the 11th to drive in Barry Bonds from second base with the winning run. The Giants had tied the score, 3-3, in the eighth inning on a single by pinch-hitter Dave Roberts.
* at Chicago 10, Colorado 9: Alfonso Soriano hit a game-ending two-run single to lift the Cubs, who blew an 8-3 lead in the ninth inning.
* Dodgers 8, at Arizona 1: Brad Penny earned his 10th win and lowered his league-leading earned-run average to 2.04.
