Gang members may not get jail term reductions

Three members of the Blythe Street gang who were convicted of violating an injunction may have to serve their full jail sentences despite a proposal to allow many inmates to serve just 25% of their time behind bars.
City Atty. Rocky Delgadillo announced the sentences Tuesday, a week after he launched a new crackdown on street gangs that includes talks with county Sheriff Lee Baca to exempt gang members from the county’s proposal to provide early releases from jails to ease overcrowding.
The gang members’ jail sentences ranged from 625 to 725 days.
