Sprint sees 2006 results in line with prior forecast

Sprint Nextel Corp. said it suffered a net loss of 300,000 monthly cellphone subscribers in the fourth quarter and would eliminate 5,000 jobs in the first quarter.
The Reston, Va.-based company also said it expected its 2006 results to be in line with its previous forecast, with full-year revenue of $41 billion to $41.5 billion and adjusted operating income before depreciation and amortization of $12.6 billion to $12.9 billion. Sprint also said it expected operating revenue of $41 billion to $42 billion in 2007.
