Still the champ of after-parties
FORGET that nonsense about Graydon Carter’s Vanity Fair party being over. Sunday night’s bash was bigger and hotter than ever. And once again, it felt like a galactic collision of celebrity universes from the worlds of politics, books, music, art, photography, fashion, film and TV. It was too loud to hear any snippets of conversation, so all I know is what I saw. 1. How happy would Will Smith have been if he’d won the Oscar? Marc Anthony probably doesn’t want to know. 2. Harry Dean Stanton, left, Dennis Hopper and Sean Penn celebrated in their own way. 3. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in a power couple moment. 4. Clive Owen and Penelope Cruz tried to chat above the din. 5. Ellen DeGeneres was ready to shed the stress of the evening with her mother, Betty DeGeneres, at left, and Portia de Rossi, 6. while Forest Whitaker had a moment of grace in Oprah Winfrey’s congratulations. 7. Nicole Kidman stood out in a vibrant red next to husband Keith Urban, 8. as did Alana Stewart, left, Anjelica Huston 9. and Donna Karan, with Giorgio Armani.
