Timothy Leary a Pinhead?

I would like to thank you for printing my photograph of Timothy Leary (“Timothy Leary,” Photo Synthesis, by Colin Westerbeck, Jan. 21). However, I feel compelled to disassociate myself from Colin Westerbeck’s comments. I never considered Mr. Leary to be a pinhead. Quite the contrary, I believe that he was an important figure of the ‘60s. My reason for mirroring his image the way I did was to emphasize the psychedelic community that he represented. I was not in any way expressing negative feelings about him.
