The Mayme Clayton Library -- one of the nation’s largest collections of rare books, films, recordings and other documents on black Americans -- will be refurbished with help from federal funds.
Rep. Diane E. Watson (D-Los Angeles) announced Thursday that the Western States Black Research and Education Center would receive a $250,000 grant to upgrade the facility.
