Ex-premier gets second term in office
From Times Wire Reports
Ukraine’s parliament elected Yulia Tymoshenko as prime minister by the narrowest possible margin. It is the second time she has won the post: Her first stint ended after just seven months, when she was fired by her Orange Revolution partner, President Viktor Yushchenko.
Tymoshenko received 226 votes -- the minimum required for confirmation by the 450 lawmakers.
The Party of Regions, led by the Orange Revolution’s old adversary, former Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich, is expected to challenge Tymoshenko and Yushchenko’s allies in parliament.
