An inexcusable danger
Re “Hauling danger, courting disaster,” a Times investigation, Dec. 9
Thank you for your investigative report on unsafe trailer dangers on the roads. I have long taken to avoiding following trailers while driving. The cruelty of these tragedies is especially poignant in that it is often the case that the perpetrator escapes unscathed while the deadly projectile of the defective trailer wreaks havoc on innocent bystanders.
Hauling defective trailers is but one of the irresponsible behaviors with which drivers have to increasingly contend. Along with driving while holding a cellphone and neglecting to secure loose objects in open truck beds, these behaviors reflect a flagrant disregard for human lives. They are inexcusable.
