Property taxes are due -- by 5 p.m.
Today is the deadline for property owners in Los Angeles County to pay the first installment of property taxes.
Taxpayers have until 5 p.m. to make payments; a 10% penalty will be imposed on any that are late.
Payments may be made online, over the phone or in person at county treasurer and tax collector offices in downtown Los Angeles and Lancaster. If mailed, checks must be postmarked by the date indicated on the bill. Cash payments are not accepted in Lancaster.
Today’s deadline also applies to property owners in other Southland counties.
