Man arrested as unlicensed doctor

An investigation initiated by the Medical Board of California has resulted in the arrest of a man accused of practicing medicine without a license, authorities said Friday.
The board alleges that Martin Yanez was illegally soliciting California residents for tummy tucks, liposuction and breast augmentations.
Although he is licensed in Mexico, Yanez is accused of conducting examinations and care at two locations in Downey before and after performing the surgeries in Tijuana’s Hospital de la Mujer y el Nino.
The board is asking people treated by him to call its Cerritos office at (562) 402-4668.
