Storm-delayed election reset

The government postponed until Sept. 3 a national election that had been scheduled for Monday as it grapples with the cleanup from Hurricane Dean, which displaced as many as 300,000 Jamaicans. The People’s National Party is seeking a fifth consecutive five-year term, and polls indicate it holds a slim lead over the opposition Jamaica Labor Party.
