Surprising, innovative and ever-changing, the annual New World Flamenco Festival at the Irvine Barclay Theatre focuses this year on rising stars. Scheduled are Compañía Maria José Franco in “De Grana y Oro” (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), Compañía Andrés Pena y Pilar Ogalla in “A Fuego Lento” (Tuesday and Wednesday) and Compañía Juan Ogalla in “Las Cosas de Cai” (Aug. 17-19). Workshops, classes and the Café Flamenco cuisine are also available in a 10-day event titled “La Flor de la Vida” (The Prime of Life).
