* Houston 6, at Milwaukee 5: Craig Biggio hit his first grand slam in 13 years with one out in the ninth. It was his first slam since July 24, 1994, against Pittsburgh.
* at Cincinnati 2, Philadelphia 1 (10 innings): Scott Hatteberg hit a tying, two-out homer in the ninth inning, and Brandon Phillips singled with the bases loaded in the 10th.
* Washington 6, at Florida 5 (14 innings): Chris Snelling singled off first baseman Mike Jacobs’ glove to score Ryan Church from second with the winning run.
* St. Louis 2, at Chicago 1: Reliever-turned-starter Braden Looper yielded five hits in seven innings and Preston Wilson hit a two-run homer in the seventh.
* San Diego 11, at Colorado 1: Chris Young yielded just four hits -- all singles -- and a run in seven innings and improved to 4-0 with a 2.65 earned-run average at Coors Field.
* Atlanta 7, at New York 3: Tim Hudson (3-0) blanked the Mets on five hits for eight innings, and Chipper Jones hit a two-run homer, his 37th in 167 games against New York.
* at San Francisco 4, Arizona 2: Russ Ortiz won his second in a row to match his longest winning streak since he won seven straight in 2004.
* at Dodgers 10, Pittsburgh 2: Randy Wolf helped himself with a two-run double during a six-run third inning.
