Man kills estranged wife, then himself

A mother of three was shot and killed Wednesday by her estranged husband before he turned the gun on himself, authorities said.

Sadie Charlee Finney, 31, had recently left her husband, Aaron Finney, 34, and obtained a restraining order against him, police said. She moved with the couple’s three sons, age 4 to 12 years, into a Murrieta condominium in the 24900 block of Madison Avenue, a police spokesman said.

On Wednesday about 8:30 p.m., Aaron Finney broke into the condo and began shooting, police said. The children ran to a neighbor to get help. Finney then doused the home with gasoline and set it on fire before killing himself, police said. Investigators said Finney had left a suicide note at the home he shared with his mother.
