LeBron James scored 35 points in 36 minutes and the Cavaliers clinched home-court advantage for the first round of the playoffs with a 94-76 victory Thursday night over the New Jersey Nets at Cleveland. Vince Carter had 26 points for the Nets, who stayed in seventh in the Eastern Conference.

Kevin Willis, the league’s oldest active player at 44, was signed for the rest of the season by the Dallas Mavericks after his 10-day contract expired.
