Re “Under a Big Sky, They Turn RVs Into Dodges,” Sept. 25
How is a motor-home buyer who legally purchases his pricey item out of state to save on paying exorbitant California taxes any different than ordering, say, rubber knee boots over the Internet or from a catalog and not having to pay sales taxes? Are we guilty of fraud too? Apparently, after reading the RV story, we also should have to wait 12 months to bring those boots home.
