Kellwood to Buy Owner of Upscale Brand

Kellwood Co., maker of mid-priced clothes under brands including Calvin Klein, agreed to buy the company that owns the Vince women’s line to add an upscale name to its labels.
St. Louis-based Kellwood is buying CRL Group for an undisclosed amount, the companies said. Vince, based in Beverly Hills, is a contemporary women’s sportswear collection sold at department stores including Nordstrom Inc.
Rea Laccone would continue as chief executive of Vince, with Christopher LaPolice staying as president. The company would operate as part of Kellwood’s western region division.
