Utah 48, at Utah State 0: Brett Ratliff passed for three touchdowns and the Utes (2-1) returned two interceptions for scores to defeat the Aggies (0-3) at Logan, Utah. Derrek Richards caught two touchdown passes and backup quarterback Tommy Grady threw his first touchdown pass for the Utes. Utah outdid the 1944 Utes, who shut out the Aggies, 47-0, in Logan, for the biggest blowout in the series and got the first shutout since Utah won, 19-0, in 1990.
at Idaho 27, Idaho State 24: Brian Flowers’ fourth-quarter touchdown was the difference as the Vandals (1-2) defeated the Bengals (1-2) at Moscow for Dennis Erickson’s first win since returning to coach.

at Louisiana Tech 31, Nicholls State 21: Running back Patrick Jackson ran for 116 yards in 23 carries and scored a touchdown to lead the Bulldogs (1-1) over the Colonels (1-2) at Ruston, La.
at New Mexico State 48, Texas Southern 14: Jeremiah Williams had 106 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead the Aggies (2-1) over the Tigers (2-1) at Las Cruces, N.M.
Boise State 17, at Wyoming 10: Ian Johnson rushed for 119 yards to help the Broncos (3-0) to a win over the Cowboys (1-2) at Laramie.
at Nevada 28, Colorado State 10: Jeff Rowe passed for 210 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wolf Pack (1-2) over the Rams (2-1) at Reno.
Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 17, at Sacramento State 10: Matt Brennan threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns as the Mustangs (3-0) held on to defeat the Hornets (0-2). Ramses Barden caught nine passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Cal Poly has won seven in a row.
San Diego 43, at Yale 17: Junior quarterback Josh Johnson threw for four touchdowns and ran 46 yards for another to lead the Toreros (3-0) over the Bulldogs (0-1) at New Haven, Conn., for their 11th consecutive win.
at Wisconsin Whitewater 27, Azusa Pacific 7: Jordan Wells returned a kickoff 92 yards to start the second half, leading the Warhawks (2-0) over the Cougars (1-2).
at Occidental 48, Colorado College 34: Quarterback Andy Collins completed 29 of 40 passes for 382 yards and five touchdowns passes to lead Occidental (2-0) over Colorado College (1-1). Occidental led 48-19 before Colorado College scored 15 unanswered points in the fourth quarter.
at Menlo 27, Chapman 24: Greg Parker passed for 179 yards and threw two touchdown passes to lead the Oaks (2-1) over the Panthers (0-1) at Atherton, Calif.
at Carthage 31, Whittier 2: Brennan O’Boyle passed for 175 yards and a touchdown and the defense gave up only 148 total yards as the Red Men (3-0) defeated the Poets (0-2) at Kenosha, Wis.
at Whitworth 37, La Verne 16: Joel Clark rushed for 255 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Pirates (2-0) over the Leopards (0-2) at Spokane, Wash.
at Cal Lutheran 26, Willamette 16: The Kingsmen (2-0) scored 20 second-half points to come from behind and defeat the Bearcats (0-3).
Pomona-Pitzer 38, at Lewis and Clark 20: Cody Peterson completed 18 of 31 passes for 270 yards to lead the Sagehens (1-1) over the Pioneers (0-2) at Portland, Ore.
at Trinity (Texas) 35, Redlands 10: Jacob Cannon threw touchdown passes and finished with 110 yards to lead the Tigers (1-1) over the Bulldogs (0-2) at San Antonio.

at Houston 42, Grambling State 22: Kevin Kolb became the first 10,000-yard passer in school history as the Cougars (3-0) rolled over the Tigers (0-3). Kolb, who did not play for most of the fourth quarter, completed 27 of 31 passes for 297 yards and a pair of touchdowns passes. Houston is 3-0 for the first time since 1990.
at East Carolina 35, Memphis 20: Defensive end Zach Slate returned an interception seven yards for the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead the Pirates (1-2, 1-1) to a Conference USA win over the Tigers (1-2, 0-1) at Greenville, N.C.
at Tulsa 28, North Texas 3: Paul Smith threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns after to lead the Golden Hurricane (2-1) over the Mean Green (1-2) at Tulsa, Okla.
at Southern Methodist 45, Sam Houston State 14: Justin Willis threw five touchdown passes to lead the Mustangs (1-2) over the Bearkats (1-1) at Dallas.
at Central Michigan 24, Akron 21: Josh Gordy returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown to lead the Chippewas (1-2, 1-0) over the Zips (1-2, 0-1) in a Mid-American Conference game at Mount Pleasant.
Kent State 16, at Miami (Ohio) 14: The Golden Flashes (1-2, 1-0) ended an 11-game losing streak with win over the Bobcats (0-3, 0-1) in a MAC game at Oxford, Ohio.
at Northern Illinois 31, Buffalo 13: Garrett Wolfe rushed for 263 yards in 24 carries to lead the Huskies (1-2, 1-1) over the Bulls (1-2, 1-1) in a MAC game at Dekalb.
