Always a dull moment

Three cheers for your editorial on the need to refurbish Los Angeles International Airport’s concessions (Sept. 11). As a traveler who has spent too many stopover hours there, I see that LAX is at the cutting edge of 1960s airport design and content. Terminal 2, in particular, has the ambience of a morgue but without the charm. Please let someone other than the city run it, and then L.A. might get an airport as vibrant and lively as the city. The alternative is that travelers such as myself will seek to avoid LAX, preferring instead to be an L.A.-ex.
