Pop the bubbly: Today’s telecast of “The Guiding Light” at 2 p.m. is its 15,000th TV episode, CBS says. The soap opera began on the radio in 1937 and began its historic TV run on June 30, 1952.

Poetry prize: Avant-garde poet Michael Palmer has won the Wallace Stevens Award, a $100,000 prize given annually by the Academy of American Poets for “outstanding and proven mastery in the art of poetry.”
