Salton forms panel to explore possible sale

Kitchen appliance maker Salton Inc., which manufactures George Foreman grills and other home gadgets, said it was forming a special panel to explore a possible sale of the company.
Salton executives said a three-member committee, along with financial advisor Houlihan Lokey Howard & Zukin Capital Inc., would “explore strategic alternatives” that could also include a merger.
Shares of Lake Forest, Ill.-based Salton climbed 58 cents to $2.93.
