Union Opposes Easing Council Term Limits

The Engineers and Architects Assn. announced Thursday that it was opposing a ballot measure that would ease term limits for the City Council.
Union members walked off the job for two days in August to protest that the council had imposed a new contract on them. Still, the move Thursday was unusual, as the council and city unions are often criticized for being too accommodating of each other.
Union chief Robert Aquino said the measure could restrict his organization’s ability to represent its members.
