Oracle Agrees to Settle False-Pricing Charges

U.S. authorities said Oracle Corp. had agreed to pay $98.5 million to settle charges that a rival it acquired had submitted false pricing information while negotiating a government contract.
The government paid inflated prices for software and services from 1997 to 2005 because of false information provided by PeopleSoft Inc., a software company Oracle acquired in 2004, the Justice Department said.
