Marines’ Rape Trial Ends; Verdict Date Set
From Times Wire Reports
The rape trial of four U.S. Marines in a Manila court wrapped up and the judge set Nov. 27 as a tentative verdict date.
The Marines, being detained at the U.S. Embassy in Manila, are accused of raping a 23-year-old Philippine woman in a van last year at a former U.S. Navy base northwest of the capital. They have denied the charges, saying only that one of them had sex with the woman and that it was consensual.
