4 Rescued After 20-Plus Hours in the Atlantic
Four men who decided to swim for shore after their boat capsized about 15 miles offshore became separated overnight but were rescued, one after spending 25 hours in the Atlantic Ocean, the Coast Guard said.
Clinton Daughtry, 27, was pulled from the water by an Air Force helicopter shortly after noon about five miles east of Mayport and taken to a Jacksonville hospital, authorities said.
The three others were found about four hours earlier, two together and one alone. All had been wearing life jackets. One man who stayed with the 17-foot craft was rescued by another boater about seven hours after capsizing. All were reported in good condition.
