Secret Service is there, purse isn’t
From Times Wire Reports
Argentine media were abuzz after the purse of President Bush’s daughter Barbara was stolen in Buenos Aires, even though Secret Service agents were nearby.
“Bush’s bodyguards couldn’t handle San Telmo purse-snatcher,” read a Web headline from official news agency Telam.
Interior Minister Anibal Fernandez confirmed the theft but withheld most details, including which daughter was involved. U.S. officials declined to comment.
La Nacion newspaper said the Bush daughter was in the popular tourist district of San Telmo on Sunday when the theft took place.
