Ex-Professor Gets More Jail Time in Terror Case

A judge in Tampa sentenced former professor Sami Al-Arian to another year and a half in prison in his terrorism-conspiracy case, calling him “an active leader” in a Palestinian terrorist group.
Al-Arian, 48, was sentenced to a total of four years and nine months, but he will get credit for the three years and three months he has already served. When he finishes his sentence, he will be deported.
Lawyer Linda Moreno asked the judge to release her client, but the judge refused, calling him “a master manipulator.”
