From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A man died when a small plane crashed in the Angeles National Forest about 10 miles northeast of Burbank on Thursday afternoon, authorities said. The victim was identified only as a Las Vegas resident.
The four-seat Rockwell Commander AC112 took off from Santa Monica Airport headed for North Las Vegas about 2:30 p.m. Dispatchers received several calls of a plane in distress just after 3 p.m., and rescue teams located the wreckage in a remote wooded area, Los Angeles County fire officials said.
