Huffington sorry for blog goof

From a Times staff writer

After her flap with George Clooney over comments of his that she posted on her website as a blog, commentator Arianna Huffington has apologized and established a new policy for dealing with such material.

The Oscar-winning actor had objected last week when Huffington’s site, the Huffington Post, put up what it suggested was an original blog from Clooney but in fact was a compilation of remarks he’d made in newspaper and TV interviews.

Huffington, in a blog of her own posted over the weekend, said it was a “big mistake” not to identify where the material had come from.

In the future, she said, “any time the HuffPost uses repurposed material we will identify it as such and source where it originally appeared and link to it.”
