Detainee Held Since 2001 to Be Freed Soon

After more than four years in a U.S. detention center near San Diego, Ahilan Nadarajah, 25, will soon gain the freedom he sought when he fled Sri Lanka and the government he says jailed and tortured him.
He had reached the U.S. in 2001 only to be detained for the same reason: suspicion that he was in a group called a terrorist organization by the U.S.
