Marine Pilot Killed in Crash Is Identified

The pilot of an F-18 fighter jet killed during a training exercise was identified Tuesday as 1st Lt. Brian R. Deforge.
The 25-year-old Marine from Plattsburgh, N.Y., and another pilot, whose name has not been released, crashed Monday over Ft. Hunter Liggett, a U.S. Army Reserve base 150 miles south of San Francisco. The other pilot ejected and was briefly hospitalized. Deforge is survived by a wife and two children.
