Man Convicted of Torturing, Killing Son
A man was convicted by a Los Angeles jury Monday of torturing and murdering his 22-month-old son, whose burned body was found in the father’s van three years ago.
Anthony Bill Lopez, 38, faces life imprisonment without parole at his sentencing July 11. The mother, Sylvia Torres Rolon, 40, faces a trial in July on similar charges.
Lopez killed his son, Isaac, in Rolon’s condo, then burned the body in a gasoline-filled tamale pot, prosecutors said.
